Life Beyond Cheap Oil

Life Beyond Cheap Oil

Finding low carbon solutions beyond the cheap oil and gas we have come to depend on is a critical challenge for the future well-being of our community.
How to make a transition to alternatives, in a geographically remote community that depends on road transport for all its basic needs, is far from clear and must be urgently addressed.
At the Climate Change and Community Energy Forum held in Cockermouth on July 31st the debate focussed on energy efficiency initiatives to reduce demand, wood energy systems to provide space heating and the potential of establishing community owned energy systems to reduce dependence on increasingly uncertain centralised systems.

If you would like to contribute to this debate and the emerging projects register on this site and join the growing network committed to supporting our community in responding to the growing global energy crisis.
