Bridging the Nutritonal Gap
A new and exciting workshop designed by nutritional therapists to be the essential guide to diet and supplements made easy!
This course is packed with important information to help us understand why we may be vitamin and mineral deficient and what steps to take to rectify this and prevent chronic ill health.
The evening workshop will cost £25 - including the course booklet full of great information plus your own personalised diet and supplement programme. All for less than the price of a consultation!
This is a great opportunity for people to learn how to take responsibility for their own health in a relaxed, informal environment. The workshop will start at 7pm at the Riversmeet Resource Centre at 4 Market Street, Cockermouth.

Cockermouth Spring Clean
Friday, May 24, 2013 - 11:00
Residents, businesses and community groups are being urged to join forces for a new initiative - the ‘2013 Cockermouth Spring Clean’.
Organised by Town Centre Manager Joe Broomfield from Allerdale Borough Council, in partnership with Riversmeet Community Cooperative and Cockermouth and District Civic Trust, the event will take place on Friday 24 May from 10am.
Joe said: “The Council’s Streetscene teams do a brilliant job – in fact, I regularly hear praise for Walter McDonald and Cyril Walker who are very familiar faces on the streets of Cockermouth – but there is always room for improvement. I certainly feel that some of the road signs would benefit from a spring clean.
“The Council’s Streetscene team will be cleaning the big, hard-to-reach signs in the town centre and on the gateways into the town, and we will also co-ordinate the cleaning of smaller road signs in residential areas. Several members of the Civic Trust and Riversmeet have already volunteered to help out on the day and we would welcome any further offers to get involved.
“Through the combined efforts of the Council and those volunteering the Spring Clean should result in a big improvement to the look of Cockermouth. If the day goes well this is something that we will look to do in other towns across Allerdale.”
Phil Campbell, Chair of Cockermouth Civic Trust, said: “The Civic Trust has been working continually for improvements to our town centre and we welcome the opportunity to work with our Town Centre Manager and Riversmeet on this Spring Clean day.”
Frank McGrath, one of the founders of Riversmeet, said: “We are delighted to actively support this initiative. Riversmeet members intend to make the Spring Clean a success and we hope this will be the first of many collaborations to enhance our local environment.”
The headquarters for the Cockermouth Spring Clean will be the Riversmeet Community Resource Centre, next to the Town Hall, in Market Street, Cockermouth. Cleaning materials and free refreshments will be provided for all volunteers. To get involved, email joe.broomfield@allerdale.gov.uk or call 01900 702568.
