Varnycrooks Orchard Planting Day

Saturday, March 1, 2014 - 13:00

You are cordially invited to the 4th planting day at Varnycrooks Orchard!

There are a small number of trees to be planted this year and we welcome anyone interested to lend a hand!

The main objective of the day will be to apply a mulch of old hay to each tree - this will provide both weed suppression and nutrients over the course of the growing season.

Please bring with you;

  • gardening gloves (or any kind of gloves) if you have them
  • some food to share if you wish (tea and soup will be available for all on the day)
  • suitable weatherproof clothing
  • a pair of waterproof boots or wellies
  • a responsible adult if you are under the age of 16

Parking space is limited so we encourage you to car-share if you can. Donations towards our social event fund for materials and refreshments welcome :-)

When does the digging start?

We get cracking at 1pm!

Where is Varnycrooks?

The orchard is at Threapland - please get in touch with us on our Facebook page for directions or to organise a carshare.
