The Google white screen consumes a lot of power. Now Blackle saves energy while you search!
In response to a blog in 2007 about the potential of saving 750 mega whatts/hour by using a black screen on their search engine Google has created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact functions as the white version, but obviously with lower energy consumption.We encourage you to set Blackle as your home page (Ctrl+D). This way every time you load your Internet browser you will save a little bit of energy. Remember every bit counts! You will also be reminded about the need to save energy each time you see the Blackle page load.
