Six Questions and Five Themes
The Confluence Network
Over 40 people and organisations responded positively to this initiative and over 30 people attended, representing a wide cross section of community and cultural interests including Artists, Designers, Sculptors, Storytellers, Musicians, Textile Designers, Film Makers, Craft Workers, Poets, Musicians, Dancers, Actors, Educators, Therapists and Local Businesses including several people with direct experience of losing their homes and businesses in the floods. Organisations represented included The Kirkgate Centre, Soundwave, Cockermouth Amateur Dramatics Society, Storytree, Allerdale Borough Council , Cockermouth School, Cumbria Community Foundation and the Soroptimists.
The Six Key Questions
1. Security
How can we strengthen community security while living with physical insecurity?
2. Healing
How can we mark the anniversary in an appropriate way, to enable community healing?
3. Recovery
What have we lost that needs to be recovered?
4. Rebuilding
What needs to be renewed or built differently?
5. Reconnection
How can we enable a reconnection to the rivers that have hurt us?
6. Learning
What can we do to foster community learning and build resilience for the future?

4. Arts and Crafts Development
5. Community Creative Resource Development
The Confluence Holding Group
