With the rising prices and growing competition for oil resources, can we rely on centralised energy systems? At a community level we could establish more decentralised solutions and adopt energy efficiency methods in our homes and workplaces to provide greater local energy security.
We are planning a Community Energy Forum on July 31st to explore how to take these opportunities forward.

This is a great idea: there's so many possibilities, particularly in small places like cockermouth to get communities, shops, businesses, people together: not just to talk and educate and promote efficiencies, but to DO stuff, multiple buying / discounts etc.
